The last art mention is ubud painting, has been become an important part of bali painting history. It begins from the Hindu-Javanese Majapahit Kingdom which expanded into Bali in the 13th Century. Before 1920 balinese painting era, the balinese painted it for religious and sacred painting that usually put in a palace or temple. They called it as Traditional Kamasan Style.

The Traditional Kamasan Style use for calendars and wayang kulit or a shadow puppets made from leather. The name of Kamasan Style is taken from the village where it was created. The material use on the painting is a natural material derived from mineral and vegetables. For example bone, soot from kitchen fires, clay, and stone. The brushes made from bamboo, tree bark, cloth or wood.

The Kamasan Style changes into a modern painting style when some western artists such as Walter Spies and Walter Bonnet visit Bali. And the Ubud Painting style was born. Before the ubud style born, the theme much more painting religious thing. But in Ubud Painting Style, it started from the western painting village scenes of traditional life such as farming, bathing and market.

On 31 July 2010 until 1 August 2010, Another Kite festival has been held in Tanah Lot, Tabanan, Bali. We know Tanah Lot is a favorite destination place for seeing sunset and sunrise. The sky is really beautiful and also there is a sacred Tanah Lot temple.

This Festival followed by some regions in Bali. No different with Padang Galak Kite festival, at this festival also perform traditional kites such as Janggan or the bird figure, Bebean or -the fish figure, and Pecuk or the woman’s genital figure.

Most of the kite is a giant one, in size 4 meters (width) and 10 meters (length). It need a couple of people to fly this giant kite. The judge marked the kite by Color and design creativity, however important also the kite must be able to fly on the air for several hours.

The winner decision will be announced at 3 August 2010 in Tanah Lot. One note for this festival is about traffic management because of a small road that accessed by tourists and kite visitors. So the committee must think about traffic management to make this kite festival perfect.

Nyoman Sarjana, Legian Beach Festival Chairman said the festival aims to introduce the richness of indonesian culture to domestic and foreign tourist. This festival attended by 35 province of indonesia.

In this festival, each province perform their unique art to festival visitors. Another agenda on this festival is Tree Planting activities to support “greening” program of Legian Go Green (LGG).

First you need to know about oil painting basic. Oil paints use linseed oil mixed with pigments to create durable works of art. To remove dust from painting surface, you can use a soft or clean brush. Also you can use low power of vacuum cleaner with a hose and brush attachment. If stain, you can use warm water and a small amount of mild detergent. Use a clean and soft cloth and then blot the painting gently. Regular dust clean will prevent from further cleaning. This treatment also make your painting on perfect color.

For canvas frame, you can use insect spray every 2 weeks. Spray on the back of the painting with 1 meters distance. And then clean the frame with soft cloth to remove the chemical material.

This is how to do oil painting care or treatment for your Balinese Art Painting.

In this year, about 720 participant from local Banjar follow this festival in Padang Galak. A Banjar is a traditional structure on balinese village. The participant come from younger and old people of each banjar.

The theme for bali kite festival 2010 is “Flying kite in the green island” and opened by Denpasar Mayor. There are two categories, such as traditional kite ( including “bebean” or fish sized 3-4 meters and “janggan” with long tail 100 meters) and “Pecukan” form in ellipse. This three kind of kite is commonly in Bali. The material is using local bamboo and parachute linen.

The cost is varied from 600-1100 USD, its depend on the size and the material. Generally the preparation has been begun about a couple months before the festival begin. In this festival, the judge give point by creativity, colour, form, sound and its performance on the sky.
