Bali Acrylic Painting

In modern bali painting arts, acrylic painting is also inffluence the balinese style painting. Acrylic means a chemical or material which fast-drying paint containing pigment suspended in an acrylic polymer emulsion. Acrylic painting ussually diluted with water, however it does not means this paints will not water resistant, but it is become water resistant.

Depending on how much water or acrylic gels, media, or pastes diluted with acrylic material, the painting will have its own characteristic, which different with other painting style such as watercolor painting or Oil Painting. The acrylic paints was introduced in 1955.

While we can make same painting using acrylic painting or oil painting, there is a difference between this painting material. The binder of oil painting is linseed oil or another drying oil, and the binder of acrylic painting is water. That is come to the terms of oil based for oil painting and water based for acrylic painting.

However the most significant difference is the time of drying. Oil painting allow blending color more longer and also giving glazes on the painting. This condition is not good when the painters need to paint the painting quickly. Acrylic painting dry in shorter then oil painting. So this characteristic has uses on a purpose.

If you ever see a wall painting, you will see the acrylic painting is used there. Unlike oil painting, in acrylic painting we can get wide density range for making soft brushes. This allows really heavy 3D (impasto) effects.
